SEUM advised AI semiconductor startup FuriosaAI, Inc. (“FuriosaAI”) in its KRW 80 billion Series B funding round. This largest investment in a Korean semiconductor startup to date can be viewed as a recognition of FuriosaAI’s technology. FuriosaAI is a producer of high-performance AI semiconductor chips to be used for data centers or self-driving cars. In 2019, FuriosaAI achieved the unprecedented result of being listed as the only Asia startup to have satisfied the strict MLPerf (measuring the performance of machine learning) performance evaluation of the global AI chip benchmark (performance test) contest, in which large AI companies such as Nvidia, Google, and Alibaba participate.

Based on SEUM’s broad expertise in advising on investments in the IT sector, SEUM’s review of the relevant contracts and advice allowed for the smooth closing of FuriosaAI’s Series B round.
