SEUM Law Firm Establishes Local Partnership Hub to Support Korean Companies Entering Cambodia
SEUM Law Firm (“SEUM”), Korea’s first startup-focused boutique law firm, announced that it has established a partnership hub in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to support the local business activities of Korean companies, and held an opening ceremony to mark the occasion.
An increasing number of Korean companies operating in or preparing to enter the Cambodian market have reported difficulties adapting to the local regulatory and administrative environment. In response, SEUM established the hub, drawing on its close working relationships with Cambodian government ministries and related institutions, to quickly identify and address the challenges faced by Korean companies on the ground.
The opening ceremony was attended by approximately 70 guests, including senior government officials such as Cambodian Secretary of State for the Ministry of Commerce Christophe Chheang, the Phnom Penh Police Commissioner, and a Director-General of the Ministry of Environment, as well as prominent figures from the local business community, including the CEO of YCP Microfinance. Attendees expressed high hopes for the continued expansion of Korean companies into Cambodia and for strengthened economic cooperation between the two countries.
Through this hub, SEUM plans to provide business support services to Korean companies that have entered or are considering investing in Cambodia, connecting them with a network of local experts across various fields.
SEUM’s Managing Partner said Cambodia is a rapidly growing market in Southeast Asia that continues to draw increasing interest from Korean companies, adding that SEUM will support Korean companies in doing businesses in Cambodia with confidence, drawing on the partnership network it has built with local government bodies and experts.
SEUM is a leading Korean boutique law firm providing legal services across the full spectrum of practice areas, including company formation, fundraising, and M&A advisory, as well as litigation for dispute resolution. SEUM has been ranked in Band 3 for Corporate/M&A by Chambers & Partners Global 2026, and has been recognized by IFLR1000 for eight consecutive years as a leading firm in the M&A field, with its lawyers likewise individually ranked, earning recognition for its expertise and competitiveness from the world’s leading legal directories.
