SEUM Law Launches High School Scholarship Program “ERUM”

In 2021, SEUM Law (“SEUM”) started a scholarship program for high school students titled “ERUM”, as part of its efforts to exert positive influence in its community. The name of the aid program, “ERUM”, was selected through an in-company contest, signifying SEUM’s encouragement and support for students who strive to achieve their dreams and SEUM’s participation in such endeavor. Although SEUM has been serving the community through various efforts, such as supporting disadvantaged classes and children, the new “ERUM” scholarship program has particular meaning, as SEUM’s members participate in the entire selection process, which is shared to all members(Link).

From the first semester of 2021, SEUM selected a total of five “ERUM” scholarship recipients from first-year high school students. The firm will provide a total of 90 million Korean Won in scholarships throughout three years (18 million Korean Won per single student). Specifically, the program provides 3 million Korean Won each semester, and a semester review conducted with each student at the end of each school semester. Students undergo personal consultations at the semester review, sharing their impressions on the previous semester as well as discussing new issues or worries they face.

SEUM plans to make greater efforts to provide real and effective assistance to the everyday life of the scholarship students and to promote a stable environment for their studies. Managing Partner Hoseok Jung commented that “the key purpose of the ERUM scholarship program is to continuously encourage young students and to foster an environment in which students can wholeheartedly chase their dreams.”

SEUM selected the first group of scholarship recipients in April 2021, and named the second group of scholarship students in August 2021, thus supporting five students in total. SEUM plans to select new “ERUM” scholars each year to provide scholarship funds as well as mentoring programs with professionals in the legal, startup, and IT space. We ask for your continued interest and support in the program.
