Danny is a founder and the managing partner of SEUM IP.  He has over twenty year experience in strategic IP counseling on patent and trademark matters in the field of computer software, mobile services, robots, medical devices, business models, blockchain/cryptocurrency, fashion and entertainments.

Danny represents a variety of clients including start-ups, emerging tech companies, public and multinational corporations in prosecution of patent/trademark applications, trials and litigations.  He has extensive experiences in purchasing/selling patents and trademarks and has contributed to the clients' success in IP disputes and contracts by tough and moderate negotiation strategies.

Danny is active in the start-up community and a co-founder of a tech startup accelerator where he has contributed to finding high-potential start-ups, accelerating them and establishing innovative programs for co-building tech-centric startups.

Prior to SEUM IP, Danny filed and prosecuted patent applications, dealt with patent litigations, and protected trade secrets at KIM & CHANG on behalf of global companies, and built patent portfolios for many Korean domestic companies at SU IP and MOA IP and shared experiences with the clients while they grew up and achieved business exits.

  • Represented Naver, Fairchild, Applied Materials, LG U+, Hitachi, Toshiba, etc.
  • Represented Korean and foreign companies (S company, X company, T company, B company, etc.)


[2] Handling trademark disputes in the fields of fashion, entertainment and information technology

  • Represented Samsung Corporation, Handsome, YG Entertainment, etc.
  • Represented Fast Retailing, 10 corso como, IRO, Carven, etc.
  • Supervised Qoo10 trademark litigations in China
  • Purchased trademarks and negotiated for licensing deals in relation to disputes


[3] Building global patent portfolios and preparing for patent disputes

  • Represented SiRF against Qualcomm for GPS patents, and purchased patents for defensive use
  • Filed and prosecuted patent applications related to Android OS licenses on behalf of Microsoft
