Hyun Nam, a partner at SEUM Law(hereinafter 'SEUM') , has been named a member of the official Startup Legal Support Committee of the Korea Startup Forum (“KSF”), the country’s largest organization dedicated to supporting startups(Link).

Founded in 2016 and registered as a nonprofit corporation in 2018, KSF represents over 2,445 startups and innovative companies. It is committed to fostering a dynamic startup ecosystem by advocating for shared interests and implementing programs that enhance the business environment, drive regulatory innovation, and support sustainable growth.

The Startup Legal Support Committee was established to address the legal and institutional challenges that startups frequently encounter. Through its initiatives, the committee provides legal advice, conducts legislative analysis, proposes policy improvements, and assists with legal disputes. Its mission is to empower startups in overcoming barriers while safeguarding and promoting the ecosystem’s growth.

The committee’s focus spans diverse areas, including investment agreements, M&A, privacy protection, intellectual property, and taxation. It also organizes valuable activities such as legal clinics, seminars, and office hours, offering startups access to expert legal counsel tailored to their needs.
